China Steel Association: China’s steel production in August was 106.39 million tons, up 9.8% year on year

Recently, China Iron and Steel Industry Association released the operation of iron and steel industry from January to August. The growth rate of output of iron and steel products is faster than that of last month, and the price of steel products is lower than that of last month. Although the price of most raw and combustion materials has declined, it is still at a high level, and the benefits of iron and steel enterprises continue to decline compared with that of last month.

In August, China produced 71.17 million tons of pig iron, a year-on-year increase of 7.08%, a growth rate of 6.53 percentage points faster than last month; produced 87.25 million tons of crude steel, a year-on-year increase of 9.29%, a growth rate of 4.31 percentage points faster than last month; produced 106.39 million tons of steel, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%, a growth rate of 0.21 percentage points faster than last month.
